At only 30 years old, working for the Fédération des Artisans after studying business and management, Francis Stoffel decided to radically change his career. He was attracted to artisanal work using mainly natural materials, and he quickly turned to a career as a roofer, letting him work with this kind of material and create beautiful, long-lasting work. He started a new course of study, starting as an apprentice.

In 1988, he got his master’s degree, and on September 1st, 1988, he founded his own roofing business, L’Entreprise de Toiture Francis STOFFEL-REDING (SARL), a typically Luxembourger company.

Although in the beginning, the private shop in Peppange was largely sufficient for Francis Stoffel, who worked with a young apprentice, after a year he had to transfer to a rented hall in Berchem and number of workers went up to six. This number would increase regularly over the following year, and in 1996, the company moved to Livange setting up in a old renovated farm.

Today, the company has reached cruising speed, working exclusively within the country. It employs more than 30 workers, including  apprentice and 6 employees, with 9 different nationalities. It is particularly proud that of all its employees, 3 of them have 20 years or more of experience, 10 who have between 15 and 20 years, 3 between 10 and 15, and 5 who will pass the threshold of 10 years of service starting next year.

STOFFEL-REDING FRANCIS SARL offers many types of service:

• Roofing: creating all types of roofs: natural Samaca (Spain) and Glendyne (Canada) slate, artificial Eternit-type slate, natural terracotta tiles (Bisch, Pottelberg, Narvik, Migeon, etc.) or one of the many brands available on the market of concrete, tin, copper and sheet metal tiles (metal or sandwich tiles).

• Tinwork: Replacement tinwork (gutters, plumbing) made of tin (natural, quartz/grey or anthra/black tin) or copper. Our very high-quality products come from two internationally-renowned manufacturers: Rheinzink and Vieille-Montagne.

• Insulation: Roof insulation can be done inside buildings (with attics that are not yet outfitted and/or accessible) or outside on the roof, together with renovation of your roofing. We only use high-quality, reputable products, such as Linitherm, Rockwool, SIGA and Foamglas.

• Waterproofing: Terraces, garages, domes, flat roofs. Our waterproofers will work with modern, reliable materials. These include: the Alwitra and Soprema product lines.

• Roof windows: Outfitting unused attics. We recommend bringing in light, and we can install Velux or Roto-type windows of your choosing. Dormer windows can also be installed.

• Maintenance and repair: Gutter cleaning, roofing cleaning, replacement of missing or broken slate, welding broken rain gutters, partial replacement of gutter pipes as well as small, everyday work.

• Framework: Our frames are made by two specialized, reputable Luxembourger companies: Charpentes Belhomme SARL in Huldange and Jacob & Weis SARL in Heffingen. We are your single contact points and we will coordinate construction work between our two departments.
