Our history

If you enter the pub through the old front door with its printed decoration, it's not unusual to meet old regulars who have taken seats on stools in front of the wooden bar and are chatting while red wine and beer are poured into glasses behind the bar.

But instead of Adelheid, it's Tila who now stands at the bar. And although she's often very busy, she always takes the time to chat and pay attention to each of her customers.

She says: "30 years ago, I came to the 'Philo' to meet up with friends. During those moments, she says, she memorised the friendly, typical atmosphere of the pub. Later, when the traditional pub remained empty, she thought it was a shame and decided, with her husband, to take over the Pub and integrate their brasserie into it.

Since then, the couple have been running the Philo'soff, with the aim of maintaining the typical atmosphere for which the pub is still famous today.
