Founded in 1998, the Mediation Centre, a non-profit association, is a key player in the development of mediation in Luxembourg
Each year, hundreds of cases are handled by the Mediation Centre
What is mediation ?
Mediation is the involvement of third parties (mediators) whose aim is to :
(Re)establish communication between people in conflict
Seek to form new relationships
Help people to find their own solution to the conflict
What is the role of mediators ?
Mediators are not judges or arbitrators, and they don't lecture or moralise.
They are independent people who are trained to :
listen carefully
facilitate discussion
give each person a voice
allow choice
In a conflict where each side sticks to their own position, the involvement of mediators can break the deadlock through listening and dialogue.
