The Charely train (on the Luxembourg-Echternach line) used to pull in at Senningen station after crossing the Kirchberg plateau, passing through the Grünewald and running alongside the old Roman road ("de Kiem"). But the Grünewald villages used to be a popular destination for outings, mainly for people living in the capital. And the Senningen Station Hotel-Restaurant held the promise of a warm welcome and a table laden with good food.

The restaurant - pizzeria - Charly's Gare Hotel... Today...

The Luxembourg-Echternach line no longer exisits and the Charely train which ran on this line has retired. But the old station Hotel-Restaurant is still here. The building has been refurbished in keeping with the original structure and has taken the name of the indefatigable Charely.

Our pizzeria restaurant thus welcomes you every day in a historic setting where you can come to experience the Italian art of cooking and if you want to stay longer, rooms are available for you in our hotel.
