About Administration Communale d'Esch/Alzette - Bibliothèque

Esch, the city of iron, is proud to have 34,000 inhabitants today. As a dynamic, changing city, it is thrilled to serve its citizens and answer any possible question from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

The City of Esch is the second largest city in Luxembourg, where multiculturalism plays an important role. Esch now has a multitude of local association where everyone is welcomed in a friendly atmosphere.

Throughout the year, the City of Esch offers citizens and future students several cultural events. In the following cultural institutions, there’s sure to be a show you’ll like: “Kulturfabrik”, “Rockhal”, the “Esch Theatre” and the “Esch Conservatory” offer events annually, adding the cultural richness of the City of Esch. The calendar is loaded with creative workshops for children, talented artists and internationally renowned music and dance groups. Also part of cultural life are cultural events that have become traditions of their own, such as “Culture Night” and “Escher Kulturlaf”: guaranteed success in cultural offerings.

As for its development, the City of Esch is pleased to be able to welcome students from the University of Luxembourg to become a real college town. We hope that the students will enrich the industrial site “Belval”, where everything is available for student life and entertainment: student housing at affordable prices, a shopping center where students can do their shopping in close proximity to their housing and an array of possibilities for students to go out with friends to let loose after class and exams. Above all, Esch is a multicultural city that is attentive to every citizen. Need information about the City of Esch? Feel free to contact us at the following number: 547383-1
