Wines from the Luxembourg Moselle region
History
In 1973, Marc Kox-Plyta took over the vineyard from his father, Jos Kox-Koch, keen wine connoisseur and son of a family of wine-growers. Marc and his wife Olga have just celebrated the 40th year of their wine-cellar, situated north of Remich. Both the Wine-making Institute of Luxembourg and the Hôtel des Vignes with its unobstructed view over the Moselle, are located close to the estate.
Today, Marc Kox-Plyta owns more than seven hectares of wonderfully sunny vines on Remich’s most renowned hillsides. The wines from first-rate plots at Primerberg, Goldberg, Fels and Hôpertsbour enjoy particular prestige. It is quite rare for a vineyard like those of the Kox-Plyta Cellars to have a single proprietor; 30- and 40-year-old vines, of Luxembourg’s classic grape varieties, can be found here.
A vine cultivated with respect for nature, to a strict size, and well cared for, healthy, hand-picked grapes, cutting edge wine-making technology and finally, the wine-maker’s know-how: these are the qualities and characteristics of the wines produced by Marc Kox-Plyta.
The quality
All of my plots are around Remich, a region known for its rich and deep, non-reconstituted soils.
Primerberg, Hôpertbour, Fels and Goldberg are some of the best locations in Remich. All of our wines are made exclusively from grapes harvested by our very own hands.
All of this allows us to offer natural vintages to the consumer at excellent value.
