Our day-care center

The Mary Poppins Day-Care Center in Luxembourg welcomes children from 2 months to 4 years of age. (small family-style facility with 31 places)

In our day-care center, the children are divided into 2 groups:
1. The penguins: children from 2 months to 2 years of age
2. The foxes: children from 2 years to 4 years of age

The child-care center is registered with the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth and accepts childcare service vouchers.

Enrollment is flexible, according to the needs of the parents.

The concept of our day-care center:

Our rooms are set up by theme areas, which can vary according to the seasons and the interests of the children.  This facilitates the children’s orientation.  Some of our theme areas are:

  • Table games area

  • Dolls and dress-up area

  • Kitchen area

  • Cars area

  • Building area

  • Stress release area

  • Reading area

History:

Founded in 1995, the Mary Poppins Day-Care Center has accumulated a great deal of experience that it has allowed it to improve throughout the years

It is a living space that is specially designed to welcome very young children:  a large playground and spacious and open spaces equipped with educational and psychomotor tools.

Situated in an inside court, the Mary Poppins Day-Care Center is protected from street traffic.

Most of the qualified staff has more than 10 years’ experience in early childhood education and thus provides a warm family environment for the children.

Menu:

Our meals are prepared and delivered by the “Kaiffer” butcher shop, using fresh regional products.  Purées for the babies are also prepared by the “Kaiffer” butcher shop, according to parent requests.

Goals:

The child must be supported and encouraged in all areas to his/her development.  The areas of concern are of a motor skills, cognitive, physical, emotional and social nature.

In order to meet these goals, the staff stresses the independence of the children, the stimulation of the various means of expression, psychomotor skills, social behavior and an introduction to the cultural world.  The child is the center of all our activities.

The forest, which is only a few steps away, is a learning tool.  We go there at least twice every week.
