Historical background

1952: Mr Antoine Di Cato joined the company run by his father-in-law, Mr Maier, in Ettelbruck

1970: Mr Antoine Di Cato decided to start looking for a plot of land to build offices and stores, because the premises in Ettelbruck had become too small for a rapidly-expanding company.

Mr Antoine Di Cato found land in Schieren, close to the railway station. Among its many advantages was the possibility of using rail transport for much of the constructions materials used (Rhine sand, Moselle sand, cement).

Late 1971: Completion of the move from Ettelbruck to Schieren.

1972: After studying as an engineer, Mr Jean Di Cato joined the team.

1982: The company, previously in the sole name of Di Cato – Maier, became a limited partnership by an association between Mr Antoine Di Cato and Mr Jean Di Cato.

1988: Creation of the company A. Di Cato S.à r.l. with Mr Jean Di Cato as sole manager.

1995: Extension of the offices in Schieren.

2002: 50th anniversary!

2008: Di Cato took over the activities of the facade and plasterwork/ceilings company Paiva in Mertzig.

2012: 60th anniversary!

2013: Mr Antoine Di Cato died on 27 March 2013, at the age of 89.
