About Dr. Gleitz - Médecin spécialiste en orthopédie

Practice specialisation

Diagnostic and conservative (non-surgical) treatment of conditions caused by wear and tear and overexertion of the musculoskeletal system and spine.

Primary treatment of:

  • Myofascial (muscular, often caused by trigger points) pain in the spine and musculoskeletal system

  • Tendons and tendon insertion conditions (tendinopathy)

    • Tennis elbow (radial epicondylopathy)

    • "Heel spur" (plantar fasciitis)

    • Achillies tendon (achillodynia)

    • Patellar tendon

    • Tendon insertion in the outer hip joint ("trochanteric bursitis")

    • Tendons on the inner ankle joint (tibialis posterior tendon)

    • Tendons on the outer ankle joint (peroneal tendon)

    • Flexor tendons in the toes

    • "Snapping" flexor tendons in the fingers (trigger finger)

    • Wrist tendon conditions (De Quervain syndrome)

    • Golfer's elbow (ulnar epicondylopathy)

  • Arthritis of large joints

    • Shoulder

    • Elbow

    • Wrist

    • Hip

    • Knee

    • Ankle

  • Arthritis of small joints

    • Thumb saddle joint (rhizarthrosis)

    • Finger joints (heberden and Bouchard's nodes)

    • Metatarsophalangeal joint (Hallux valgus/rigidus)

Injections

Inflammatory and degenerative (caused by wear and tear) joint conditions are treated with injections into the joints (intraarticular).

Low-dose joint cortisone (Lipotalon, 2.5 mg), naturopathic compounds (Traumeel etc.) and hyaluronic products (Ostenil etc.) are used.

Tendon conditions are infiltrated by ultrasound with power Doppler (to show inflammatory changes).

On the one hand, this guarantees precision treatment of local inflammation with low doses of medication, on the other hand, we avoid injuring the injected tissues.

Ozone (03) is also injected to reduce local inflammation (antioxidants) and avoid bacterial infection (antibacterial/antiviral).

Intravenous infusions with enriched autologous blood (ozone therapy, Ozonosan)

To prevent painful inflammatory conditions and to increase the body's immune response, we use closed single-use O3 (ozone) enriched infusions.

Extracorporeal shock wave therapy

This belongs to the best scientifically proven conservative courses of treatment for tendon conditions.

The principle involves stimulating the body's tissue regeneration processes that are no longer capable of working indepentendly. For this reason, this therapy is broadly considered naturopathic.

The stimulation is triggered by pulsing sound waves fed from outside (= extracorporeal). The treated cell bonds react by distributing growth factors, anti-inflammatory substances and regeneration of healing vessels that encourage regeneration. Pain-relieving neurotransmitters are also released and the nerve endings are temporarily inactivated.

As we are dealing with the body's own regenerative processes, a period of 6-12 weeks should be allowed before results can be evaluated.

When applied correctly, shock wave therapy is free from side effects with the exception of temporary irritation.

Shock wave therapy is fundamentally different from the ultrasound therapy due to the specific character of the soundwaves.

Only focused shock wave therapy systems are used in this practice, and no radial shockwaves are applied as they are in the physiotherapeutic field.
