About Crèche la Petite Sirène

LA PETITE SIRÈNE NURSERY

The "La Petite Sirène" nursery, located at 115 Rue de Cessange in Luxembourg, is a single-family house with 240 m² and certified childcare staff, welcomes children from 2 months to 4 years old.

Its opening hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 6:30pm, including during school vacation (except for the week between Christmas and New Year's Day).

In order to meet the needs of every age, children are divided into three groups:

  • Babies: 2 months - 18 months old

  • Tots: 18 months - 2 and a half years old

  • Kids: 2 and half year - 4 years old

Far removed from street traffic, the nursery has a courtyard and a large garden (+/- 6 ares) where you children can play and enjoy the sunshine starting in the spring.

Collective living

The nursery is often a child's first place of socialization. Children can learn to separate from the family and live as a group. Children learn that they are not alone and learn how to take turns, share, respect boundaries in order to develop; they construct their own personality and respect others.

Educational work

The educational work done within the nursery consists of promoting the general development of the children we are in charge of. Children are small people, with their own characteristics and needs, which we try to actively accompany and support in their development toward autonomy and individual independence. The main fields of learning included in childcare work focus on the different phases of child development.

Adaptation phase

We have observed that an adaptation phase into the nursery is useful, both for the children and for the parents. This is why coming to the nursery takes place gradually over time. Before entering into the nursery program, for one week, children come to spend a few hours with us. This is why parents inform us of their children's rhythm and habits, and this is also an opportunity for everyone involved to learn how to get to know each other.
