About Creos Luxembourg S.A. – Siège - Centre de Luxembourg-Ville

Creos is the owner and manager of electricity networks and natural gas pipelines in Luxembourg.

The mission of Creos is to ensure, in a reliable manner and at transparent rates, the transport and distribution of energy on the electricity and natural gas networks in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. This is carried out in an equal manner towards all suppliers and in compliance with its public service and environmental protection obligations.

The company is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of the high, medium and low voltage electricity networks and the high, medium and low pressure natural gas pipelines of which it is the owner or for which it has been entrusted with management.

Currently, the networks managed by Creos staff (800 people) include more than 10,000 km of electricity lines and about 2,100 km of natural gas pipes, as well as about 290,000 electricity connections and about 48,000 natural gas connections. More than 90% of the national energy networks are managed by Creos.

Creos also manages and reads meters, processes customer consumption data and invoices network access fees.

As an electricity and natural gas network operator, Creos assumes its responsibility as a public service company and plans its infrastructure in such a way as to meet the evolution of the demand for electricity and gas.

The security of supply and the reliability of the energy networks are central to Creos' concerns.

In addition, when planning the networks, the company pays particular attention to the integration of its structures into the landscape and makes considerable efforts to minimise the resulting impact on the environment. Today, 95% of low voltage power lines and 74% of medium voltage lines are buried in the ground.
