As a platform open to the general public and a professional institution at the cutting edge of modern technology, the Centre National de l'Audiovisuel aims to make sound and image culture accessible to all.
In the "op der Schmelz" cultural complex, the NAC has become an exhibition and discovery space, a place for film screenings and document consultations, as well as a specialised centre bringing together archives, studios (sound and filming) and laboratories.
Our missions:
The CNA was created in 1989 with the mission of safeguarding, enhancing and promoting Luxembourg's audiovisual heritage.
Many of its own productions have been initiated and produced, such as films and documentaries "made in Luxembourg" for the cinema, or photographic exhibitions such as "From Europe" or "Hidden Images" drawn from the vast reservoir of amateur films managed by the CNA.
With a well-stocked library, a media library, a gallery and cinema rooms, the institute welcomes the general public in modern and comfortable premises.
Espace Découverte Display 02 :
The centre is also open to exploration by the community in its Display 02 Discovery Space.
This virtual browsing area provides access to a selection of the archive's collections of photographs, films and sound documents.
Set up in a cosy and playful environment and equipped with high-performance multimedia terminals, the Discovery Space offers the public the opportunity to enter the rich and fascinating world of Luxembourg's audiovisual heritage.
Discover also the NAC's e-shop which offers you all the publications of the NAC's Film, Photography and Audio Department as well as the various news.
